Come

You could never see the years in your eyes
To think of all they’d seen
All that they had laughed and cried
They could see with faith, those eyes were wise
Never giving in; “the Lord He always provides”

Come, those who are weary
Come, those who are heavy laden
Those who are burdened
And I will give you rest

Memories of warmth, a place to confide
And many conversations we had by the fireside
So much of me inside of you I can see
And now I carry much of you inside of me

It’s been a while since I last looked in those eyes
Although they gazed on death, they beheld a sunrise
And how I long to meet you beyond the skies
To run this race like you, to win the prize and hear Him say
