The Heights & Depths

My spirit is deep like the ocean
Too long for me to swim
And my mind, oh my mind it has mountains
Too high for me to climb

So I’ll stand on this shore and stare into the deep
Or I’ll walk through the valleys between
Content just to know that You’ve conquered the heights
And You’ve fathomed the depths of me

Before a word is on my tongue
It’s a song that’s always been sung
So I’ll rise up on the wings of the dawn
’Cause You’ve conquered the heights of me
And You’ve fathomed the depths of me

My life it could take many courses
But there’s only one path to take
So I’ll pray to the One who’s the way
As I make the decisions I make

And I’ll picture the past and press onto the new
Through landscapes unseen to my eyes
Content just to know that You’ve conquered the heights
And You’ve fathomed the depths of me

The mountains melt like wax before You
And the oceans flood with Your love
